I got the chop!!!

Hello lovies!!

If you follow my instagram or twitter, you may have noticed that I had my hair cut short last week!
I have had long hair for as long as I can remember and I am lucky enough to have a full thick head of hair!
For the past year and a half, I have had quite a few operations and the stress/medication has made some of my hair fall out. My last spinal operation was December 4th 2013 and again, my hair started to fall out. Don't get me wrong, to look at my you couldn't tell, however in the shower and in my brush, quite a few clumps came out. My hair still looked healthy, but the ends where so thin and snappy that it started to really annoy me!

I have wanted a new hair style for so long but never had the courage to change dramatically. It has always been a change of colour, or change where my hair parting is. This time, I wanted something completely different and so it would be less noticeable to myself mainly, when it falls out.

Last Monday, I took to the net and searched for hairstyles and couldn't find one that I super liked. I called up my cousin who is an amazinnngggg hairdresser! She has never actually done my hair before and I now actually regret, not going to her sooner! I explained to her that I wanted quite a blunt/shoulder length/long bob/highlighted/dip dyed hair style. Basically, I told her to do what she liked! I mean come on, whats the worst that could happen!? I can always buy a box dye and get extensions.....right?

We started with highlights, a full head of caramels, honeys and dark blonde's. I went for these colours to lighten and warm my face up a little. I was finding the dark brown was a little to harsh for me and made me look super pale!
After the colour had come off, my hair did too. When I seen the first cut, My stomach flipped! It must have been about 5/6 inches of my hair, lying on the floor. Inside my head, I was thinking it will grow back, it will grow back.
I had a lovely treatment on my hair that would help make it stronger. It actually lasts for up to 8 washes which is a bonus!

When my hair was finally finished (four hours and a hundred cups of tea later), I had a room full of people, waiting to see my reaction!
I looked in the mirror and loved my reflection! I seen a whole new me! I was blown away with how amazing my hair looked and how different it made me look! Everyone that has seen my hair so far, has told me how much I suit it short! I know I have had a lot took off, but I see this as getting rid of the dead weight in my life!

I have styled it a few different ways, since it has been cut and it seems to hold style so much easier, than my previous longer hair! Also, I have noticed a huge difference in my headaches! When I used to wear my hair up, I used to get painful headaches, but now as my hair is lighter, they have gone!

So, my advice to anyone reading this, who fancies a change in their hair! Do it!!! It is the best decision I have made in a long time! I feel like a new woman and love my new look!!

What do you guys think? Have you changed anything since New Year?
